Prof. Dr. Beg completed SSC from khilpara High School in 1977 and HSC from Govt. Titumir College in 1979. He obtained first division in both the examinations. He finished his graduation from Bangladesh Agricultural University in 1986. He completed his Masters in Poultry Science in 1989. After that he pursued PhD degree in Biological Science.

He joined as lecturer in the department of animal husbandry in 1988. He is an animal scientist and published around 50 research articles in national and international journals. He is familiar in livestock and poultry based television talk shows. He is one of the writer of the agricultural text book ‘KRISHI SHIKHHA’ from class six to ten of National Curriculum and Text Book Board (NCTB) of Bangladesh. He is the founder Dean of the faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University. He also served effectively as Treasurer of the university and as the member of the syndicate, academic council, member of the selection board, director of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Research System (SAURES), chairman of the animal husbandry and  poultry science department of the university. At present he is working on the organic poultry to produce antibiotic free broiler meat.

Professor Dr. Beg was elected as the General Secretary of the SAU Teachers’ Association in 2002 and latter as President in the year 2013. He was  involved in the transformation of Bangladesh Agricultural Institute to Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) in July 2001.
